Check out the latest video my group made for our project!! It involved creating a short film based on a "door-scene" in which we were given guidelines that we had to keep in mind and loosely follow. It was created using an I-flip camera!

This tech task had to do with digital storytelling! After a weekend spent out at my boyfriends family farm i was told the sad story of one of their many dogs Sadie. Here is a quick version of her story that i would like to share with you in the form of my assignment! Enjoy!

I think that this presentation was very informative. For example, now that i've done by tech task#4 which involved making a short digital film, i used a couple of the sites Alec suggested in the presentation in class. I found them extremely accessible and easy to use, although a little bit limited. I used www.animoto.com for my digital story and found that unless i subscribed i could only create a 30 second video; thus making my story straight to the point. I understand that in today's society we need to understand the easy access our children are capable of getting a hold of while using technology and therefore SHOULD most definately have sensorships and blocked content. Even as adults in offices we have blocked content such as access to personal sites like facebook, hotmail, etc. because it slows productivity of the task at hand. Ideally the concept would be to intrigue technological learning to the point that other personal distractions would not even be an issue because the child's mind would be fixed on the online learning environment. However, although possible, it is not feasible for this to be effective towards all children.
I liked the example showed in class today(Feb.4/10) actually because the teacher was utilizing the games and systems that children love best such as NintendoDS, videochat, and video iflips in order for the class to teach others what they are learning themselves. I truly think this is a huge step in learning if a child has the ability to teach someone else the lessons they are learning because it shows how much they truly understand it. I have always heard that teaching it to someone else, even as a university student, is the best way to study yourself.
