"Hope" for the future...

 


WE DID IT!

We had a pizza party in our final class! Unfortunately I had to leave early to go to work. The first hour of class we spent sharing our final reflections. A lot of people seemed excited to show the class! Many of the presentations were similiar in content, however the neat thing was the different ways they were presented using all the countless things we learnt throughout the class.
        I really want to thank my teacher Alec for the pride and interest he takes in teaching technology in the classroom. I realized how much more intrigueing classes can be when the teacher uses numerous interactive programs as well as their own vocal interest in the subject matter!  It is hard to come by teachers like him that have such passion for what they teach!
       I would also like to thank those classmates of mine that took the time to read my blog and comment. As well, for their dedication in their own blogs and assignments because it gave me more opportunity to comment and learn from other students.
                                            THANKS EVERYONE!!!   

I had fun creating this final reflection in which i had to present in class. The program www.Xtranormal.com allowed me to create two characters that could represent me and my boyfriend as the speakers. I pieced together a few programs into this reflection including www.camtasia.com, Powerpoint, www.Jing.com, and www.voicethread.com. I posted it on youtube for easy accessibility. Here it is....

Well, this is it. Our final assignment is worth a whopping 35% of our mark!! After completing my project, I have concluded that Prezi is a very time consuming but beneficial program. Many times i felt frustrated by its tools, but in the end i think it paid off! Check it out. My Prezi is a "how-to" on parallel parking. Enjoy!

Today as a class we collaborated with each other to come up with the many programs, tools, and knowledge we have learnt this semester. We used an element of Google Docs that allowed everyone in the class to write on the document at the same time and in live mode (see on screen as you type it). It was such an interesting tool!! Here is the final document our class came up with. It is an accumulation of everyones ideas. 

GoogleDocs - ECMP355 Review

This is the first time this semester I have utilized the program www.Prezi.com. WOW! it is a very very intriguing program but not very easy for a beginner. It has taken me a while now to get used to the tools within prezi and its capabilities. I still feel there is much to learn within the program but for the time being i have simply been learning as i go. With prezi you can zoom in to certain ideas and concepts and group others together. You can show the bigger pictures of the presentation and the connections between ideas and specifics of those ideas. I'm still working away on my final project so heres to hoping i learn bigger and better things within prezi before i'm done!  I want to thank Cat McMillan for her help with some of the features of Prezi! She helped me out a lot when I was a bit confused with how to alter the finishing touches of my prezi presentation. She seemed to know quite a lot about the program and has done a presentation herself with it, Check it out!
